Of clearing agents and MRA

It is now four days after I paid MRA their money for the two assets that I imported into the country. I am still made to suffer because of their silly 'dilly dallying' of what is seen as a very simple process of clearing the vehicles.
It all started with this agent who I am told wanted to reap where he didn't sow. How on earth can MRA charge me and an agent comes and tells me that MRA was wrong and raises the figure.. Shit... Am now pissed off as he keeps telling me a lies... Shit really happens but I have had enough of these corrupt MRA and their corresponding agents...

Arrival

I have to thank God our Lord for the safe journey that we had from Dar es Salaam to Blantyre with the two properties that were bought in Dubai about three weeks ago..
I and Victor, a Tz driver started off at around 9 pm.. We travelled almost for the whole night and reached the boarder @ around 12 mid day the following day. The earlier program to have Mr Thole drive one vehicle didn't work out as he had to leave early in the morning the same day we left. Everything went on well with clearing and insuring the cars.
I was now joined by KEN, my brother in marriage who helped me with the other car. A lot of things in between we reached Blantyre at around nine the following day.... Following day???? Oh yea that's 24 October 2009... As I write I am SUPER TIRED...
All in all I thank the Almighty once again for the safe journey... So wassup... DUTY.... We will C on Monday.....

End of Conference

Today marks the end of the 1st International Conference on Solar Energy Materials Research held at Belinda Ocean Resort in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The conference was a real eye opener in various research scientists in East and Southern Africa are doing.. I also had the opportunity to have an oral presentation on my paper Development of an Improved Conventional Solar Still. I will go back to Malawi by road as I have to drive one of the two cars that were bought in Dubai two weeks ago. Bernard Thole will help me with the other one... Otherwise it was nice to be back to Dar yet again and have a taste of SERENGETI ya baridi...

"Nachipanti" spices up Drogba game

Today two major things happen.. Malawi the Flames manage a draw against Didier Drogba's Ivory Coast.. Every patriotic Malawian is happy about the result but everybody feels that Malawi deserved a better result that a draw.

That done we arrive back home we are welcomed by angry residents who have run amok looting and burning houses of suspected members of the "Nachipanti" group. At the time we were arriving a good number of houses were already on fire in the nearby Goliyo (by the way I live in Ndirande Newlines) Within a short while they invaded our area.. Just a few minutes later the house was on fire...Two minibuses were also burnt to ashes.. I only feared for NEIGHBOURS house, but luckily it survived . I wonder where the owners of the house (pictured above) were for it would have been nice if they were burnt inside.. These people have really terrorized this area for the past few years. As I am writting the people have left for another BARON linked to the unfortunate deeds PASELI, who owns a fleet of minibuses, shops and lodges here in Ndirande and in Mangochi.

One thing that has fascinated me is the absence of FIRE Brigade and the POLICE at all the places where the burning has taken place.

The relatives of the girl who has died at hospital who was a victim of Nachipanti have asked Government to reveal the BOSSES behind Nachipanti and that they will not be responsible for the burial of their child...

just a few hours after we moved to a new house we, me, my wife and my inlaw Lawrence Jamu left Blantyre for Karonga, Tilora in particular for the tombstone unveiling ceremony of the Late Kaseka Munthali, father to my wife.. Some where in Kasungu we picked my father to join us for the journey... We arrived in Karonga at around six pm and the ceremony began with mass on the 3rd of october... Everything went on well. The following day we started off to Kyela, Tanzania at around 10 am... That was the beginning of a journey that ended the following dat at around 20.
